Mottanni Inspires Graduates From The Grace Lumiere Bridal Fashion Institute

On June 28, 2026, I had the privilege of being invited as a guest speaker and performer at the Grace Lumiere Bridal Fashion Institute's closing ceremony in Bamenda. Addressing the graduating class, I spoke about the challenges they will face after graduation and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their journey. I reminded them that "only he who endures till the end gets the reward of success."

We Built Our Own Table; Njangi For Creatives

On July 1, 2026, we made history in Bamenda by formally launching Njangi 4 Creative Bamenda—the city's first investment fund built exclusively for and by the Culture and Creative Industries. What started as a humble savings circle testing trust with small stakes has now evolved into a formal economic vehicle, guided by Akumbu's vision of "equity rooted in culture," anchored by Mrs. Schneider's financial discipline, and driven by our collective urgency to bridge the infrastructure and market gaps that have long held us back. We've moved from informal shadows to the formal economy, not to beg for a seat at the table—but to build our own, scale our capital, and grow our sector from the ground up. This is our declaration. And we are just getting started.

The Call That Lit The Fire

For me, it was already an honor just to be asked. But when I realized that the organisers—Bafana Pro Entertainment, Abakwa TV, Abakwa Reggae Festival—had found me worthy to stand on the same stage with real Rastamen? That wasn't just a privilege. That was a blessing wrapped in lightning.

Blinded By Light

My walk with my mother to find a bike taxi, but every approaching rider is hidden behind blinding white halogen headlamps—leaving pedestrians helpless. This personal story becomes a urgent plea to riders and authorities: switch back to original lights before someone gets hurt.

An Unforgettable Honor: My Journey as a Jury Member for Goethe-Institut Kamerun’s Goethe Découverte 2026

But beyond the tough decisions, what truly reshaped me was the community. My fellow jury members challenged and expanded my thinking with every conversation. And the contestants—fearless, authentic, and bursting with vision—taught me more than any workshop ever could. This wasn’t just an assignment. It was a life-changing experience. It completely rewired how I see art, talent, and the future of Cameroon’s creative landscape. My perspective will never be the same.

Goethe Decouverte called. I'd seen their program before, felt that familiar ache of "if only I'd known sooner".
